Burns Natural Treatment

What are Burns?

A burn is a type of injury to the skin or body flesh that is caused by heat injury, cuts and chemical radiation. Burns can be widespread or deep but current treatment therapies have improved the result and the long term cure generally depends on the severity of the burn and according to age of patient. Only the uppermost layer of our skin has the ability to reproduce itself. So burns that are major can cause permanent body marks and scars.

Types of burns:

Burns are generally categorized into three different types as per the skin layers that have been affected. The three types of burns are:

First Degree Burns:

First degree burns are commonly caused by a short contact to fire or hot water. This type of a burn does not result from a wound and the affected area becomes gentle and there may be slight peeling in couple of days. Usually there is no need of a huge treatment if only the epidermis is affected and the inner skin layers remain uninjured.

Second Degree Burns:

Second degree burns are commonly occurred due to excess heat for example, as in the case of flames, chemicals reaction and steam. This type of burns results in saturated or radiating wounds which are really sore full and tender. Second degree burns requires treatment to minimize scarring and prevent infection. It can take few days or may be a month for these skin burns to heal the wound depending on the situation of the injury and the patient’s health condition.

Third Degree Burns:

Third degree burns are usually caused by a consistent contact to higher temperatures or elements. Third degree burns result in the complete damage of all the skin layers. If usually a small area of your body has been affected, it could take a couple of months for the wound to heal but mostly third degree burns needs general skin care.
